Cederberg Rock at Sunset

Cape Kaleidoscope & Kruger Offer – 12 nights for 9!

This is the fourth and last in our Offers series (at least for a while). As before, we have scoured South Africa to identify and negotiate the best deals we can.

We are introducing this luxury tour last as it’s the one that lasts the longest, all the way until just before Christmas! It is also very varied and so it suits all months of the year.

Fundamentally this luxury tour combines three contrasting areas of the Cape with a top-notch safari in the greater Kruger National Park at Timbavati Game Reserve.

As with some of our other Offers, you can choose whether to take private transfers or have the flexibility of a rental car in the Cape. (The safari is transferred). We have given a price for both.

Cape Kaleidoscope & Kruger Offer at a Glance – 12 for 9

Day 1 – Arrive in Cape Town for 4 nights at The Twelve Apostles Hotel, B&B

Day 5 – Head north to the Cederberg (2½ hours) for 2 nights at Cederberg Ridge Wilderness Lodge, Full Board & Activities

Days 7 to 9– Head south to the picturesque Franschhoek for 3 nights at the Last Word Franschhoek, B&B

Day 10 – Return to Cape Town (1 hour) for your direct flight to the Kruger. 3 nights at Simbavati Hilltop Lodge, Full Board & Game Activities

Day 13 – Head to Hoedspruit for your homeward flight…

Tailor-make this tour

As with the other offers, you cannot reduce the number of nights at any one place, but you can add and change. We recommend adding a night in the Cederberg to make it a 3 night stay. If you need to reduce the offer, we can change to Simbavati River Lodge instead of Hilltop. You may also wish to add a day or two of private touring in Cape Town and the Winelands.

South Africa in Spring Offer – 10 nights for 8!

This is the third in our Offers series where we scour the country to identify and negotiate the best deals we can. As the title suggests, you stay 10 nights but you only pay for 8.

As with our first tour, Winter Wonderland Offer, this is based on a winter/spring special offer until September.

This relaxing self-drive tour doesn’t involve any internal flights and is a series of pretty easy drives from place to place. You start in Cape Town for 3 nights exploring this unique half city, half mountain wonderland. You are staying out in the Constantia Winelands so you get the best of both worlds. Then you head to the magnificent Whale Coast for 2 nights. Next you head inland to the beautiful Karoo area for a complete contrast where you enjoy a safari to the superb Sanbona Game Reserve. Finally you continue to the scenic Garden Route for 3 nights sight-seeing and relaxing.

The Whale Coast is known for its whale-watching especially from July to October. Whilst Sanbona is awash with wild flowers and flowering renosterveld from August onwards.

South Africa in Spring Offer at a Glance (Luxury)

Day 1 – Arrive in Cape Town for 3 nights at The Cellars Hotel, B&B

Day 4 – Head to the Whale Coast for 1 nights at The Marine, B&B

Days 6 & 7 – Head inland to the picturesque Route 62 for 2 nights on safari at Sanbona Game Reserve, Full Board & Game Drives

Day 8 – Continue to the Garden Route for 4 nights at The Plettenberg Hotel, B&B

Day 11 – Head to George airport for your homeward flight.

Recap on Why Visit South Africa in Winter or Spring

South Africa in winter is a wonderful time. The days are cooler and yes, there’s a chance of rain. But it is also the time when you can be active all day without dying of heat exhaustion. Or dissolving into a pile of oil from overdosing on the sunblock. In Cape Town, you won’t be jostling the crowds in the Waterfront or trying to avoid the endless selfie-snappers on Table Mountain.

And the temperatures aren’t that bad. In winter the days are a pleasant 17 to 22C. Whilst at night you can enjoy a good bottle of red wine around an open fire-place. The temperatures start to creep up by late August and September. Not lying on the beach sort of temperatures. But wonderful for sight-seeing.

Choose between Self-Drive and Transfers

We have given two price points, one using Self-drive (Group C model) and one using transfers. Note that if you opt for the transfer option, you may wish to add a day or two of private touring in Cape Town. Contact us to add this to the quote.

Tailor-made option

Feel free to add nights onto this itinerary such as an extra night in Cape Town or on safari. Contact us for a tailor-made quote.

South Africa Explorer Offer

South Africa Explorer Offer – 13 nights for 9 or 10!

This is the second in our Offers series where we scour the country to identify and negotiate the best deals we can.

Unlike our first offer, Winter Wonderland Offer, this offer extends beyond September. But it is particularly good value from May to August which is why we are introducing it now!

Recap on why should you come to South Africa in our winter?

Yes, the days are cooler. And it’s also the best time to be on safari. Especially in a summer rainfall area, as the animals need to come to the waterholes to quench their thirst so they are more concentrated.

This special offer tour focuses on the Cape and KwaZulu Natal. Which means that you experience both a Mediterranean climate and a Summer rainfall climate. Summer rain means that the winters are mild, dry and sunny so what’s not to like? And down in the Cape, it is low season. So you won’t be sharing a wonderful view with crowds of selfie-snappers.

Down in the Cape the days are a pleasant 17 to 22 C. At night you can enjoy a good bottle of red wine around an open fire-place.  But up in KwaZulu Natal, it is much warmer ranging from 19 to 25C. Which can be a typical summer day in many parts of the world. And it’s not humid so you can be active all day without dying of heat exhaustion, or needing to shower three times a day.

The South Africa Explorer:

This explorer tour visits four very different parts of South Africa, but each is less than 3 hours drive from each other (plus one domestic flight). The offer equates to 13 nights for the price of 9 between May and August. But you still get 13 nights for the price of 10 for the rest of the year.

This tour uses transfers between the four destinations. You start in cosmopolitan Cape Town and then are transferred up to the rugged Cederberg wilderness (3 hours drive) to stay at the magnificent Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve for 3 nights. This offers a complete change of scene. Then you fly to Durban for change of climate and vegetation. Stay 3 nights at The Oyster Box Hotel on the golden sands of Umhlanga Rocks. Finally you take an easy 3 hour transfer up to the Big Five game reserves of KwaZulu Natal to stay at Thanda Safari Lodge for 3 nights.

13 nights for 10 (or even 9) South Africa Explorer Offer at a Glance (Luxury)

Day 1 – Arrive in Cape Town for 4 nights at The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa, B&B

Day 5 – Transfer to Cederberg for 3 nights at Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Retreat, Full Board & Activities

Day 8 – Transfer back to Cape Town for early afternoon flight to Durban. 30 minute transfer to Umhlanga Rocks for 3 nights at The Oyster Box Hotel, B&B

Day 11 – Transfer to Thanda Game Reserve for 3 nights on safari at Thanda Safari Lodge, Full Board & Game Activities

 Tailor-make this tour

The fundamentals of Cape Town, Cederberg and Umhlanga Rocks cannot change but you can change your game lodge to Thanda Tented Camp or another lodge altogether, or reduce to 2 nights. Also you may wish to add a day or two of private touring in Cape Town and the Umhlanga Rocks area.
