Abseil off Table Mountain
Head to the top of Table Mountain in Cape Town to enjoy the world’s longest commercial abseil. You step off the top of Table Mountain, at 1000 metres above sea level, and abseil into pure vertical space for approx. 112 metres. You are surrounded by awesome views with the deep blue Atlantic Ocean at your feet.
The abseiling operates on a daily basis, weather permitting between 10 am and 3 pm. The overall experience will take about 45 to 75 mins. Included in that time frame is a demonstration of the abseil, putting on the equipment and doing the abseil. You then have a short hike of 20-30 mins or so to get back on top of the mountain.
Please note the price does not include tickets for the cable car.
Combine a Guided Hike with the Abseil off Table Mountain
If you combine a guided hike up Plattekloof Gorge to the upper cable car with the Abseil experience, they offer a much reduced rate. The walk meets at their offices in Long Street at 8.30am where they make the final decision as to whether it is safe to walk (from a weather point of view). They then transfer you to the starting point near the lower cable car for a guided walk to the top of Table Mountain. The walk usually takes approximately 2½ to 3 hours depending on the fitness levels of the group. We can arrange return transfers from your hotel to their offices (at an extra cost).
Please note: the price mentioned is only for the Abseil and does not include the cable car return tickets.
