Choice of Madikwe Lodges

There are plenty of lodges for all tastes. If you are a honeymoon couple, have a look at some of the most luxurious game lodges such as Madikwe Hills and Mateya. Family friendly lodges include Jaci’s Safari Lodge, Tuningi Safari Lodge or Madikwe Safari Lodge.

Some Madikwe lodges are offered as ‘Safari Houses’ on an exclusive use basis which is ideal for a group of friends or a larger family party. One of our recommendations would be Morukuru Family.

Cedarberg Africa has visited nearly all of the Madikwe lodges. With this knowledge, we can advise you from first-hand experience about different Madikwe Safaris.

How to get to Madikwe

The only ‘drawback’ of Madikwe is the relative inaccessibility. The Madikwe Game Reserve is about 4-5 hours’ drive north-west of Johannesburg. Given the distance, many people fly to Madikwe instead (one hour scheduled charter flight from Johannesberg).
