• Open all year round
• Safari activities individually tailored to your family’s needs
• Private kitchen and Chef
• Private guide & safari vehicle

Robin's House lies on the edge of Nkwali Camp overlooking Zambia's South Luangwa National Park. This private homestead is taken on an exclusive use basis and is ideal for families or friends looking for a little privacy whilst on their Safari. It is set apart from the main camp, on the banks of the Luangwa River (and is in fact closer to essential camp facilities such as the swimming pool). Robin's House is shaded by a grove of large trees and has an amazing view of the river and the animals coming down to drink.

Robin’s House is the perfect retreat for any family or group of friends wanting privacy and a safari experience specifically tailored to their needs – with its own guide & safari vehicle for all your game-viewing activities.

Access to the park for most of the season is by boat or by their quirky pontoon across the river. As the dry season progresses, the 4x4 game vehicles are able to ford the Luangwa River using a series of sandbags which is always an adrenalin rush. Game activities at Robin’s House include game walks, day and night drives and visits to the local Kawaze village and school.

Families at Robin’s House

Families travelling with young children have the additional option of leaving the children at the house where they will be cared for by the team whilst you enjoy a game drive on their own.

Children of all ages are very welcome at Robin's House with safari activities adapted to suit the needs and interests of each family. There’s a lawned area at the house where the children can play under the shade of huge ebony trees. The pool has a large shallow area for children.

Your guide has a fantastic way with children and will calmly and clearly explain the safari to them as well as show a particular sensitivity towards the children on certain sightings. Depending on your children’s ages there are a whole range of activities for them including game drives, nature walks where they can learn about animal spoor and droppings and star gazing. Don’t forget about Kawaza village where they can meet children and seeing how they live, playing football and dancing to the beat of the local drums.

Child minding at Robin's House

Early mornings aren’t suited to all children and if they wish to stay behind whilst you enjoy a quiet game drive, this is no problem at all. Around the house, your host or hostess is on hand assist with the children. They can perhaps bake cookies with the chef for afternoon tea, make lions or elephants heads from papier mache, play games or simply have a slow morning with a cooked breakfast and a gentle start.

Safari packs are given to each child with quizzes, animal books etc which is a great memory of their Zambia Safari. Child minding is on offer and they are happy to prepare the type of meals that your children enjoy. They will even provide a packed dinner for them to have at sun downers in the park if they need to eat earlier.
