Location
Hemingways faces the clear waters and white sands of Watamu Bay, 32 km south of Malindi in Kenya, voted by The Sunday Times as 'one of the world's top 10 beaches'. The area is fascinating and beautiful, with marvellous coral reefs and the ancient and archaeologically puzzling Gedi ruins to be explored. Spectacular coral gardens are just 2km from the hotel but the coral reef begins within 5 metres of the shoreline directly in front of Hemingways.
Watamu (meaning"home of the sweet people") is a small 7 km long peninsula that is a recognised UN biosphere with the Watamu Marine Park on one side; the Mida Creek Mangrove Reserve on the other and the Arabuko – Sokoke Forest Reserve stretching along the edge of the creek.

Hemingways Watamu, an oasis of peace and calm, comprises 26 Ocean View rooms, 13 Deluxe Ocean View rooms and several 1, 2 and 4 bedroom suites; all within sound of the sea, all having views of the ocean. The elegantly furnished, spacious rooms have balconies, air-conditioning, ceiling fan and mini bar, twin or double beds and en suite bathrooms with showers. Several of the rooms can take extra beds for families. There's a beautiful pool and there are plenty of activities on offer including horse riding, mountain biking, scuba diving, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, birding safaris to Arabuko Sokoke forest, boat cruises, canoeing, big game fishing (for which the resort is famous) and snorkelling in the Watamu Marine Park.

2 Bedroom Deluxe Ocean View Apartment
The Deluxe 2 Bedroom Residences are larger in size and range from 240m² to 305m². Soaked with natural light and offering a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a second large twin bedroom with adjoining bathroom, these apartments offer even more space. Both bedrooms have wonderful ocean views and direct access to the terrace and the common areas feature interior and exterior lounging and dining space and a fully equipped modern kitchen.
2 Bedroom Ocean View Apartment
Ranging from 200m² to 230m², soaked with natural light and offering a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a second large twin bedroom with adjoining bathroom, these apartments are ideal for families. Both bedrooms have wonderful ocean views and direct access to the terrace. Featuring interior and exterior lounging and dining space and a fully equipped modern kitchen, the 2 bedroom apartments have ample room for socialising or retreating to a quiet spot.
1 Bedroom Ocean View Apartment

Ocean View Double
Spacious and with easy access to the beach and the botanical pool, our ocean view rooms are found in the North Wing of the hotel on the ground and first floor. En-suite bathrooms and a beautiful balcony overlooking the Marine Park provide guests with the utmost comfort and luxury. The quiet grassy area in front of the rooms is a relaxing place to read and soak up the coastal sunshine.
