Grand Dedale Country House, situated in a long valley below the Bainskloof Pass near Wellington, not only offers a wide variety of outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking, but is also an ideal base from which to explore the Cape Winelands.
Luxury comes with space at Grand Dedale so there’s a large veranda, two dining areas, library and tea lounge, TV lounge, two conservatories, extensive landscaped gardens and a 15 meter pool all on offer. This ensures a high level of privacy and comfort.
Activities available at Grand Dedale
For the active traveller, the 380 hectares of mountains, vineyards and fynbos (stretching across Bainskloof Pass) are ideal for walking, hiking and mountain biking. Two well-marked walks lead past the Kromme River and the vineyards, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views over the mountains and the Estate. Two mountain bikes are available at Grand Dedale for in-house guests. Other activities, such as visits of local organic farms, horse riding, trout fishing, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, hot air ballooning or river rafting are available close by.
A spa room is available for a wide range of treatments performed by professional therapists. The full range of Doolhof’s award winning wines is also available for tasting in the tasting room. Private cellar tours can be arranged on request.
