Zambia is the essence of raw Africa - blessed with some of the finest wildlife experiences in Africa, and one of its greatest rivers, the Zambezi. Its game reserves, safari lodges and camps are wild and remote, appealing to those hungry for an intimate safari experience in a pristine environment. An atmosphere of exploration is all-pervasive in Zambia – most of the bush camps are small and secluded.
You fly into either Lusaka (with daily flights from London and Johannesburg) or Livingstone, close to Victoria Falls. Once in Zambia getting around between the various safari destinations is surprisingly easy. There is only one way to travel and that’s by light charter flights. Victoria Falls and all of the safari destinations, such as the South Luangwa National Park, Lower Zambezi National Park and Kafue National Park, are connected by scheduled charter flights so that your Zambian safari fits seamlessly together.
We are often asked to compare Zambia as a safari destination with its neighbours. Zambia has two distinct assets. Firstly the standard of guiding is uniformly high throughout Zambia with a special focus on walking safaris. The bush camps and lodges are small and often run by visionary characters who balance a passion for the wild with the fierce dedication of bush entrepreneurs. Furthermore every guide in Zambia has to pass stringent guiding exams, especially walking safari guides, so that the quality of your guide’s all-round bush knowledge is usually high. Secondly there is a friendly service ethic in Zambia which is pervasive throughout the safari camps and lodges.

When to visit Zambia
The Victoria Falls are marvellous year round (with the exception of October to January), but most of Zambia is "closed" during the rainy season from December to March as the ground becomes too water-logged for vehicles to travel. As the plains dry out in April, roads are remade into more remote parts of the National Parks and the seasonal bush camps re-open for the season which lasts from late May to October.
