Cedarberg African Travel was set up by two sisters, Kate Bergh and Ginny Russell, in 1995. We've spent the last thirteen years working solely with people who want a high value, highly tailor-made safari or holiday in Africa or the Indian Ocean islands.

Our clients range from parents anxious to make sure that all that the family's needs are met on a first-time safari, via time-pressured honeymooners to safari veterans keen to try somewhere "different". Why do they come to us? Why might you?

• We won't rush to sell you a holiday package "deal" without finding out what you really want. From experience, we find it doesn't work for either party. You'll find we take care to work out, together with you, if we can help and how.

• If you do work with us, you get friendly, objective advice and experienced itinerary planning to minimise the hassle of long-haul travel.

• Naturally, we have emergency back-up either here in South Africa or from our local ground handling agents.

We are fortunate to draw on the breadth of expertise of two teams of talented consultants, in South Africa and the UK. Between these people, 17 in all, we’ve got plenty of first hand experience of our chosen lodges and trips, driving the roads, sleeping in the beds, watching the sunrise over a waterhole on the game drives…. It’s tough!

The companies’ South African base, headed up by Kate Bergh, is in a rugged, mountainous region two hours north of Cape Town, called the Cedarberg, hence the name. But its expertise stretches north from Cape Town, via Namibia and Botswana to Uganda and Kenya in East Africa plus the Indian Ocean Islands.

Our consultants here work directly with individuals and with travel wholesalers and travel professionals with whom we share common goals and values.

The UK arm of the family business is run by Kate's sister, Ginny Russell, and her team in leafy Twickenham.
