This luxurious safari takes you to small intimate camps of the best quality. Visit the wild and beautiful Meru National Park, made famous by Joy and George Adamson of 'Born Free' fame. Three nights are spent at the romantic eyrie, Elsa's Kopje, with its great hospitality and delightful, cool cottages. Then continue to a private ranch in Laikipia. Finally, fly to the Masai Mara for excellent guiding with an old-established safari operation, away from the busier areas of the park.

Day 1 : 3 nights Elsa's Kopje, Meru National Park, Full Board and game activities.
Transfer to Wilson Airport for a private charter flight straight to Elsa's Kopje. Meru National Park is a little-visited but most rewarding park to include in a more imaginative safari. Game is less easily spotted, but then so are all other game viewing vehicles and visitors other than those also staying at your own lodge. And what a lodge - Elsa's Kopje is the epitome of bush luxury! Guided bush walks in the early morning work up an appetite for a delicious breakfast. Or take an extended game drive in an open-sided vehicle to the banks of the Tana River to view the hippos and crocodiles, ending with sundowners on the river banks before a night game drive home.

Day 4 : 3 nights Loisaba Lodge, Fully Inclusive.
Take a private charter to the Laikipia. 3 nights are spent at Loisaba with one optional night spent at 'Starbeds' highly recommended. Loisaba offers bush walks and day and night game drives. You may see lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe, zebra, a variety of gazelle and buffalo. A rewarding number of sightings of wild dog have also been recorded. Camel rides, horse-riding and mountain biking are also on offer. The lodge at this peaceful retreat is built on the edge of a plateau and sleeps 14, with a lovely pool and gardens. At 'Starbeds', partially roofed sleeping platforms with proper beds roll out to allow you to sleep in the open, under the stars.

Day 7 : Fly to the Masai Mara. 3 nights Cottars 1920's Safari Camp, Fully Inclusive.
Fly back to Nanyuki, where you connect with a scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. You will be met and transfer, game viewing en route, to Cottars 1920?s Safari Camp. 80 years heritage mean Cottars maintains the spirit of adventure while celebrating vintage exploration. So, while the 8 bed camp has flush loos, a natural rock swimming pool and state-of-the-art vehicles, the camp is still reminiscent of the 1920's. Tents are luxuriously elegant and spacious with a veranda, original safari antiques and old-fashioned tubs as well as showers. The camp is in a 10,000ha. exclusive concession, between the Masai Mara, Serengeti and Loliondo reserves. Game drives are conducted with experienced guides and local trackers, so clients may be able to enjoy the exhilarating experience of tracking game on foot.

Day 10 : Afternoon flight back to Nairobi.
After a leisurely morning and an early lunch, take an afternoon flight back to the capital.
