Chobe Safari at Muchenje Game Lodge | Botswana | Chobe National Park |
| This short safari in the Chobe National Park is added to a stay in Victoria Falls or combined with our other Botswana safaris. The Chobe river is known for some of the best elephant viewing in Africa in the winter months (May to October), with huge herds of up to 500 or more at the end of the dry season. This safari is at Muchenje Game Lodge but there is a choice of lodges to suit all tastes and budgets. |

Day 1 : Arrive Kasane. 2 nights, Muchenje Game Lodge, Fully Inclusive On arrival at Kasane airport you will be met and transferred to Muchenje Game Lodge. Chobe National Park lies in the northeast of Botswana, teeming with animals, in particular with huge herds of elephant and buffalo. Situated on an escarpment on the remote Western side of Chobe, Muchenje accommodates just 20 guests in comfortable en suite rooms each with private balcony. Here lies its advantage ? other riverside lodges are located on the eastern edge of Chobe so that your game-viewing at Muchenje is generally exclusive and tranquil. Overlooking the Chobe river and floodplains, the elegant main lodge incorporates a dining area, bar, viewing deck and a pool with panoramic bush views.
|
Day 2 : On safari at Chobe Activities include open 4x4 game drives, game-viewing by boat and bush walks to explore the intricacies of the bush. Chobe?s animal migrations follow an ancient pattern, only partly understood by man. Broadly speaking, the game is drawn to the Chobe River during the dry winter season and spreads out to the open grasslands of the Savute marsh during the wetter summer months. Huge herds of up to 500 or more elephants congregate at the end of the dry season. Lion are common, and almost expected, with buffalo, cheetah and an amazing variety of antelope often sighted. The river is alive with crocodile and hippo and marvellous birdlife, including kingfishers and bee-eaters.

Day 3 : Return to Kasane After a final game drive and brunch, you are transferred back to Kasane for your onward journey.
