Depart Lilongwe on an Air Malawi flight to Mzuzu. Take an air charter flight to Chelinda for the start of the 5 night Horse Safari. Stay for 2 nights at Chelinda Lodge whilst the correct horse is matched to the correct rider before heading off into the wild remote Nyika wilderness. Exploring the local area around Chelinda will provide a wonderful opportunity to ride alongside herds of wildlife including eland, reedbuck, roan antelope and zebra as well as the chance for you to put your horse through its paces.

Day 3 : 2 nights tented camps
Today you leave Chelinda Lodge to stay overnight for 2 nights in traditional tented camps on the horse trail. The camp is set up prior to your arrival with tea on the table and hot showers waiting for you after several hours in the saddle.

From the camp you can ride to the top of Nganda Mountain (2600m) to enjoy the spectacular panorama across Lake Malawi to the hills of Tanzania.

Day 5 : Return to overnight at Chelinda Lodge
The ride down to the lodge covers some steep terrain. The lodge has a stunning setting with sweeping views westwards over the Nyika grasslands. The eight luxurious log cabins, with full bathroom and sitting room, are all linked by wooden walkways to the central lodge. The last day at Chelinda can be spent riding, walking or trout fishing.
