Day 1 : Transfer from PE to Mark's Camp, Lalibela Game Reserve for 3 nights, Full Board & Game Drives
You will be collected from Port Elizabeth airport by our representative and transferred to Lalibela for a three night stay. Lalibela private game reserve comprises four lodges within 7,500ha of Big Five malaria-free bushveld. Game drives in an open vehicle with an experienced game ranger bring you face to face with a multitude of game species, ranging from mighty elephant, lion, rhino and buffalo to tiny blue duiker and rock hyrax. Night drives focus on the elusive bat-eared fox, aardvark, black-backed jackal and aardwolf. All of the animals, including the predators, are free-roaming throughout the entire reserve which spans five eco-systems, (valley bushveld, savannah grassland, fynbos, riverine forest and acacia woodland), resulting in a huge diversity of fauna and flora. African wild dogs, spotted hyena and more lion have just been reintroduced to Lalibela. Mark's Camp is a child-friendly game lodge, approx 30 mins drive into the reserve from the reception lodge. The main lodge is decorated in a relaxed Pan-African style. This lodge sleeps up to 24 guests in eight chalets, four of which are family chalets. Each comfortably furnished chalet has an en-suite bathroom and there is a ceiling fan for those warm summer nights. The chalets open up onto a private deck with views over the waterhole. Between game drives, guests can relax in the large lounge, bird watch from the viewing decks or laze around the swimming pool. Mark's Camp also has an outdoor dining boma for fireside dinners and open-air brunches, as well as a gracious indoor dining area. At Lalibela, food is true safari cuisine with an emphasis on local specialties, ranging from centuries-old recipes to exciting contemporary African dishes Children are very welcome and share a family room, which has 2 built in bunk beds plus a foldaway bed separated by a reed partition from the parent's bedroom.

Day 2 : On safari for 2 full days (Days 2 & 3)
You generally take your game drive immediately after early morning tea and coffee, as the animals rise early to hunt in the cool of the day. The two to three hour drive finishes in time for a late breakfast, which will be keenly appreciated after your early morning start! After breakfast, you can go on an optional guided walk into the bush with a ranger, or you can simply relax around the lodge during the heat of the day. After afternoon high tea, a late afternoon game drive will introduce you to some of the nocturnal animals and their predators before enjoying at atmospheric dinner back at the lodge.

Children under the age of 8 are not allowed on adult game drives, but are fully supervised and entertained with their own special 'kiddies drives' and various other games and activities. Activities for children are filled with creative African arts and crafts and bush skills. From clay projects, candle making and beading to tracking spoor around the lodge, making plaster cast moulds of the spoor and painting them. Younger children eat earlier, whilst parents are out on a game drive and then when parents return from their game drive, the younger children can enjoy roasting marshmallows over the fire and listen to exciting stories of Africa, its people and the wildlife whilst parents enjoy dinner. There is also a specially designated play area, with paddling pool and jungle gym.

Day 4 : Return to Port Elizabeth
After a last game activity and breakfast, you are transferred back to the Port Elizabeth airport in time for your onward travel arrangements.

Book Mark's Camp at Lalibela if you are a family with younger children who likes a full children's programme for your kids. One of our consultants will gladly help you with any questions you may have.
