Day 1 : 1 night Lake Manyara Serena.
The safari starts when you meet your private driver/guide and drive to Lake Manyara. Your lodge has a superb position on the edge of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Guests have views of both the valley below and of the soda Lake Manyara. A swimming pool also overlooks the views. The 67 bedrooms are a good size and have private verandas with breath-taking views. Take an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. a compact, attractive park, with good concentrations of lion and elephant as well as giraffe, buffalo, impala, zebra, pink flamingos and many other aquatic bird species.

Day 2 : 2 nights Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge
Drive to Serengeti Serena Lodge for 2 nights. Here lion patrol the Seronera River and cheetah are often seen on or near the kopjes. You take full day game drives with a picnic lunch to be enjoyed in the shade of a rock kopjie or acacia tree.

Day 4 : 2 nights Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
Drive via Olduvai Gorge to the Ngorongoro Crater rim, where you stay two nights based at the Serena Safari Lodge.

Built on the rim of the ancient volcanic crater the ivy clad stone lodge blends into surrounds. The lodge and the rooms enjoy spectacular views down onto the crater floor where the many and varied wildlife can be clearly seen. All the well known African species occur here and can be see in great numbers, including the Black Rhino. The Ngorongoro Crater Conservation area is home to Maasai people and their cattle and they co-exist in a pioneering scheme with the existing wildlife.

Day 6 : 1 night Serena Inn, Stone Town.
Return to Arusha for lunch and then an afternoon flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, you are met and you transfer to Stone Town.

The rich cultural heritage is apparent and Arab, Indian, Persian and European influences blended with local African tradition. Historic buildings with elaborately carved wooden doors, shaded by balconies, loggias and verandas line the narrow winding streets.

Your hotel has a prime location right on the seafront overlooking a sandy beach where fishermen ply their trade in traditional dhows. The 52 en suite rooms are air-conditioned and elegantly furnished with Zanzibari antiques and private sea-facing balconies. There is a sparkling secluded pool, lounge, bar and restaurant.

Day 7 : 3 nights Kinasi Lodge.
Transfer to airport for flight to Mafia.

Kinasi Lodge is a short flight from Dar es Salaam. On the trade routes of Persian dhows for centuries, the clear protected waters of this island retreat offer wonderful diving, snorkelling, sailing and swimming. Kinasi is a stylish, relaxed lodge situated in a coconut and cashew plantation facing Chole Bay, part of a marine park. 14 palm thatched bungalows each have a large veranda and en suite bathroom. It?s beautifully furnished with antiques and bespoke furniture, adorned with original artworks. Additional strengths are the 4x4 excursions around the island to villages and historic sites and the cuisine - a fresh, happy blend of seafood, Swahili and Italian influence.

Day 10 : Return to Dar es Salaam.
Flight back to Dar es Salaam for onward arrangements or flight home.
