Day 1 : 3 nights, Baines Camp, Okavango Delta, Full Board & Game Drives On arrival at Maun Airport, you are met by our representative and transferred by light aircraft to Baines? Camp in the Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta, Africa's largest and most beautiful oasis, is an isolated, lush green paradise with some of the richest wildlife in the world. The maze of waterways, lagoons, vast grassy plains and palm-fringed and wooded islands is home to crocodile, hippo, elephant, lion, leopard, hyena, giraffe, wild dog, rare antelope and around 400 bird species.
Well shaded by huge Sausage and Jackalberry trees, this intimate camp offers excellent wildlife and panoramic views over a perennial lagoon. The dιcor of each elegant tented suite is simple yet richly textured; themed around a Thomas Baines painting. Facilities include a spacious bathroom, minibar, ceiling fan, elevated private deck and a unique four-poster bed on wheels for an optional sleep-out under the stars! The open deck on the water?s edge has a suspended fireplace and a rimflow swimming pool with two salas for afternoon siestas. Activities include day and night 4x4 game drives, walking safaris as well as mekoroand boat cruises in season. Specialist elephant programme also on offer.
|
Day 4 : 2 nights, Chobe Chilwero Lodge, Chobe National Park, Full Board & Game Drives Transfer by air to the Chobe National Park for 2 nights at Chobe Chilwero Lodge or similar.
Chobe National Park lies in the northeast of Botswana, teeming with animals, especially elephant with huge herds of up to 500 or more at the end of the dry season. The Savute Channel is a rugged semi-arid wilderness region in the south-western part of Chobe National Park, famous for its excellent year-round game-viewing.
Chobe Chilwero is famed for its panoramic views over the Chobe River, its islands and its floodplain. Spacious and exquisite cottages each have a large sunken bath, indoor and outdoor showers, fans, air-conditioning, a private sala or balcony and a private garden with hammock. The beautiful thatched main lodge comprises a stylish and contemporary lounge and dining room linked to spectacular viewing decks. There?s also a secluded pool, library, wine and cigar cellar, spa and beauty therapist. Open 4x4 game drives, sundowner cruises, game-viewing by motor boat and seasonal fishing excursions (at extra cost) are all on offer in and around the Chobe National Park only 5 minutes away.

Day 6 : 2 nights, Stanley Safari Lodge, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Today, after a final game activity, you are transferred by road to the Victoria Falls. You spend 2 nights at Stanley Safari Lodge.
The Victoria Falls are a sight not to be missed - a dramatic scenic contrast from the reserves. For many it would be inconceivable to visit Africa without experiencing the vast curtain of surging water that plunges into the Zambezi Gorge below.
Stanley Safari Lodge borders the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, close to the Falls. This owner-managed lodge is reminiscent of a traditional 1920's safari experience. Attention to detail is delivered with style: starched linen on your mahogany four poster bed, fresh flowers and interesting artefacts. Luxury cottages and suites, with a private garden and dining area, are individually decorated with local materials. The honeymoon suite has its own fireplace and plunge pool. Four are open-sided to enjoy the unique view across the bush to the spray of the Falls - but the rest are enclosed for those who prefer it. The main house provides the setting for candlelit French-style cuisine; alternatively you can dine under the stars on the lawn or in the privacy of your room.
|
Day 7 : Relaxing at Victoria Falls The Zambezi River has two characters - the wide gentle river above the Falls is the perfect place for languorous sunset boat cruises or gentle canoeing at sunset, whilst below the Falls, the more adventurous can enjoy serious white-water rafting or jet-boating. Both on and off the river, there is a great deal to keep visitors amused and most activities are offered from both Zimbabwe and Zambia. Elephant and buffalo can be seen in the Zambezi National Park and the Mosi oa Tunya National Park on the Zambian bank, which is also home to white rhino. Further afield, the far larger wildlife haven of Chobe National Park can easily be reached for a day trip. There is horse-riding, golf and some excellent craft markets. You can also sample an elephant-back safari and take part in their grooming and feeding activities.
|
Day 8 : Flight to Johannesburg for 1 night at The Grace Bed & Breakfast This morning you are transferred back to Livingstone for your flight to Johannesburg (Scheduled Flight is NOT included in the tour price and will be quoted separately on enquiry.)
On arrival in Johannesburg, you are met and transferred to the five star Grace Hotel for an overnight stay.
|
Day 9 : Flight to Vilanculos for 5 nights, Indigo Bay Lodge, Full Board and some activities This morning, you are transferred back to Johannesburg in time for your flight to Vilanculos. On arrival you are met and transferred by boat (20 mins) to Indigo bay Lodge on Bazaruto Island off Mozambique.
Indigo Bay Resort is ideal for those who prefer more of a resort ambience. 30 air-conditioned Beach chalets are decorated in a fresh, beach style. Each has TV, telephone, minibar, bathroom en suite with shower and beachview bath. 12 luxury Bayview suites, each with two bedrooms, also feature an outdoor dining area, sala, outdoor shower, and private splash pool.
|
Day 10 : Relaxing for 4 days on the Islands It is hard to imagine somewhere more romantic or 'Robinson Crusoe' than the islands of Bazaruto off the coast ? empty white sandy beaches, lush vegetation and an azure blue sea for swimming amongst the rich coral life. The protected reefs surrounding the islands support dolphin, dugong, game fish and giant lobster. The shallow, crystal-clear waters offer spectacular safe snorkelling protected by the dazzling soft coral reefs. You float above starfish, anemones, seahorses and a bewildering range of jewel-like fish, which extend out to the many dive sites where you also encounter green turtles, manta ray, sailfish and a variety of docile sharks. The more adventurous will enjoy the thrill of a night dive or wreck dive whilst beginners can take a PADI dive course. Experience the exhilaration of big game fishing, fighting marlin (between October and March) as well as barracuda, kingfish, tuna and sailfish. On the islands a mosaic of forest, savanna and saltwater lakes sustains a diversity of flora and fauna. Bird-watchers will not be disappointed with over 125 species recorded including the rare crab plover, olive bee-eater, green coucal, narina trogan and paradise flycatchers. Above all, there are no people! If you want a cosmopolitan bustling resort experience, these islands are not for you.
As well as snorkelling, diving, deep-sea fishing and sunset cruises, you can also enjoy water-skiing, power kiting, dune boarding, horse-riding, nature trails and guided island drives. Complimentary non-motorised watersports include pedal-boats, kayaks, windsurfers, aqua jump and Hobiecat sailing.
|
Day 14 : Flight to Johannesburg Today you return to Vilanculos island to fly back to Johannesburg in time for your onward flight arrangements.
