Day 1 : 1 night House of Waine, Nairobi, Bed & Breakfast Transfer from the airport to your Nairobi hotel for the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at House of Waine.
Day 2 : 2 nights Tortilis Camp, Amboseli, Full Board & Game activities An early start is needed for the 0615 collection and transfer to Wilson airport. Check in 0730 for your scheduled flight to Amboseli. Here you are met and transferred, game viewing en route, to the award-winning Tortilis Camp, for a late breakfast.
Tortilis Camp is an exclusive luxury tented camp on the southern edge of Amboseli National Park, giving unparalleled views of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. 2 days of game drives and walks.
In Amboseli, flat savanna is dotted with acacia shrub and trees and buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, giraffe, lion and cheetah abound. A series of ground fed marshes in the centre of the park are home to a prolific number of bird species and the famous Amboseli elephant herds.
Day 4 : 3 nights Elephant Pepper Camp, Fully Inclusive The scheduled flight to the Masai Mara leaves at 0830. Arriving at the Musiara airstrip, you will be collected and then transferred, game viewing en route, to your camp in the Koyiaki communal lands just on the edge of the park (there are no fences separating this land from the park ? it means that there is more freedom to walk, however). This is a terrific camp, very small and very authentic, being a semi-permanent seasonal camp, yet there are all the luxuries that mean so much ? such as flush loos and ice for drinks!
Day 7 : 4 nights Peponi Hotel, Bed & Breakfast. Flight back to Nairobi and connect to Lamu. You are met and transfer by boat to your hotel.
Peponi Hotel is a family-run hotel at Shela, a short complimentary boat ride from Lamu Town. The 24 rooms, both superior and standard, all have ocean views, overhead fans and nets and are traditionally furnished. In the bougainvillea-filled gardens there is a freshwater swimming pool, shaded by baobabs, which overlooks the dhows gliding past. The bar is popular with guests and locals alike while the terrace restaurant does a brisk trade in succulent seafood and delicious Swahili dishes. According to weather, water-skiing takes place in front of the hotel and boats ferry guests to the reef for snorkelling and diving.
Day 11 : 3 nights Manda Bay Lodge, Full Board & Activities. Boat transfer to Manda Island, where you spend a further 3 days.
Manda Bay L is set above powder white sand on the unspoiled northwestern tip of Manda Island. This exclusive hideaway offers relaxation, water sports, dhow safaris and luxurious pampering ? ideal for both families and honeymooners. 12 cottages, constructed with local materials, have large ceiling fans, en-suite bathrooms, and private verandas overlooking the ocean. A central dining room and bar area feature locally crafted Lamu furniture. Cuisine naturally has a marine flavour but all plans are flexible to fit in with guests? requirements. Exploring nearby mangrove creeks and long-left ruins, visiting the many islets, or deep sea fishing for the elusive marlin or sailfish, are just a few of the many explorations on offer.
