Day 1 : 2 nights Lunga River Lodge
Depart Lusaka on a light aircraft charter flight into Kafue. On arrival, you are met and you transfer to Lunga River Lodge, arriving in time for an afternoon game activity. This might mean a game walk, a game drive or a river cruise. Canoeing is also on offer. Night drives provide the added excitement of the nocturnal wildlife of the area. The Busanga Plains cover an area of approximately 750 sq km and are skirted by the Lunga River on their eastern side. This perennial river is one of the three main tributaries into the Busanga Plains. Situated on the banks of this magnificent river is Lunga River Lodge. Lunga River Lodge has six spacious thatched rooms with private decks shaded by large jackalberry trees. They all overlook the river with breathtaking views. An elevated dining room faces the sunset and the pool, bar and sundeck are suspended over the river. A maximum of 12 guests can be accommodated at any one time and great emphasis has been placed on the 'guided' experience - being led by qualified, enthusiastic people with in-depth knowledge of the area and its wildlife.

Day 3 : 2 nights Kapinga Bush Camp
This morning you enjoy a game-viewing transfer into the seasonally flooded Busanga floodplains. Busanga Plains is one of Zambia's most significant wetland areas and one of the few areas in the world untouched by human development and human activity. The plains are home to thousands of red lechwe, ubiquitous puku, stately roan and sable as well as the diminutive oribi and duiker. The Defassa waterbuck, herds of tsessebe, hartebeest, zebra and buffalo make for a full set of antelope. This wealth of game on the plains is also a big attraction for predators, including leopards, wild dogs, cheetah and prides of lion up to 20 strong.

Kapinga Bush Camp is designed to blend in with the environment and natural products have been used as much as possible in the construction of the camp. Interiors are spacious and have all the modern conveniences that one would wish for. With only three luxury safari tents accommodating a maximum of 6 guests, one can be assured of exceptional personal attention. Guests can take part in game drives and walking safaris in and around the plains and night drives offer the added excitement of the nocturnal wonders of the area. All these are led by qualified guides who are extremely knowledgeable about the area and its wildlife.

Day 5 : 1 night Lunga River Lodge
This morning you have a game-viewing transfer back to Lunga River Lodge. A unique range of habitats, from the memorable Busanga floodplains in the northwest to the verdant vegetation of the south, supports a rewarding variety of wildlife. It is a birder?s paradise with over 490 species, including endemics such as Chaplin's Barbet.

Day 6 : Return to Lusaka
After a final early morning game activity, you fly back to Lusaka. Alternatively there are private charter flights to Livingstone, Mfuwe or the Lower Zambezi (at an extra cost).
