The Lanzerac Hotel & Spa is located on a private wine estate in the magnificent Jonkershoek Valley, on the edge of the historic university town of Stellenbosch. Few hotels can enjoy a more spectacular location than the Lanzerac: the Helderberg mountains behind, the avenue of oak trees and surrounding lush vineyards combine to provide the archetypal Cape wine farm setting of this beautiful hotel. Built in 1692, the Lanzerac Hotel & Spa is one of the Cape Wineland's finest examples of Cape Dutch Architecture. The Lanzerac Hotel was sumptuously refurbished in the late twentieth century to combine the best of old world tradition and new world expertise and efficiency. Today this five star hotel and estate is known for superb luxury, first class service, fine wine and cuisine, and superior pampering and wellness.
The rooms, restaurants, bar and public areas of the Lanzerac Hotel are all located in the estate's 300-year-old Lanzerac Manor House and out-buildings, amidst 10 hectares of award-winning landscaped gardens featuring numerous ancient oaks - some 160 years old. There are 48 individually furnished rooms and suites including the Royal Pool Suite with its own private swimming pool and the opulent Presidential Suite. All rooms are classically furnished in an elegant old-world style with the modern comforts of air-conditioning and underfloor heating. Some have private patios overlooking the vineyards, the landscaped gardens or the Helderberg Mountains.
The French concept of terroir - the mysterious blend of climate, soil and setting that produces the unique taste of the wine - takes form here as at the Lanzerac is not only an exclusive hotel but a working wine farm and cellar. Guests can enjoy a 'Wine Safari' which gives an in-depth view of the vineyards, grape cultivars, wine making and tasting. The stunning range of Lanzerac wines are the perfect complement to meals at Lanzerac Hotel's various restaurants. Choose between the elegant formality of The Governors Restaurant, the classical grace of the Lady Anne Courtyard, or the relaxed al fresco charm of the Terrace overlooking the Manor House. The Taphuis is a historic bar decorated with antique yellowwood furniture with a huge Cape Dutch kitchen fireplace as the centerpiece.

The Lanzerac Hotel & Spa accepts children with up to two children able to share their parent's room. There is plenty of space for children to play around and easy family walks to enjoy in the surrounding vineyards of the Lanzerac. The choice of restaurants also works well for families who can opt for more casual dining if they prefer.

You may also like to sample the Lanzerac Spa - a well-equipped Spa & Wellness Centre where six therapy rooms are complemented by saunas, steam rooms, Jacuzzi and heated indoor pool. Given its surroundings, the Lanzerac Spa specializes in therapy from the winelands, using grapes as the base of all therapy oils. These 'Theravine Body Treatments' will rejuvenate the body, mind and soul.
