Montusi Mountain Lodge lies in the northern Drakensberg Mountainss. It’s a spacious luxury lodge in an idyllic setting overlooking the magnificent Amphitheatre escarpment of the Royal Natal National Park. There are plenty of walks on the estate (with guided daily walks on offer) but the classic walks of the Royal Natal are only 10 minutes drive away with hikes up Tugela Gorge or walks to Cannibal Cave.

This owner-run lodge offers personal and friendly service. Accommodation is in 14 thatched garden suites. All suites have en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, as well as a lounge with TV, covered terrace, fireplace and spectacular views of the Drakensberg mountains. Little touches such as complimentary bathrobes, fruit bowls and a minibar stocked to your requests add to your comfort. There are also some two bedroom family units available. This 1000-hectare resort offers hiking (with daily guided walks departing at 9am), horse riding for beginners or intermediates, fly-fishing, birding and a swimming pool. Take a swing on the flying trapeze at the nearby Adventure Centre (as well as giant trampolining, abseiling and other interesting options).
