Thornybush Game Reserve & Other, Greater Kruger Park, South Africa

Reviews of game lodges in Thornybush Game Reserve

Sunset drinks at Royal Malewane

Thornybush Private Game Reserve comprises 11,500ha of bushveld adjacent to the greater Kruger National Park of South Africa. The biodiversity of Thornybush attracts a wide variety of wildlife and bird species including good sightings of the Big Five whilst on safari. The only difference between the Thornybush and the adjacent Timbavati is that the Timbavati has dropped its fences into the Kruger National Park. Within Thornybush Game Reserve, we recommend the Royal Malewane Lodge for those wanting the most luxurious safari experience and Thornybush Game  Lodge for its stunning setting and family suites…

You can enjoy safaris in several other private game reserves on the edge of the Kruger National Park. These include the private Balule Game Reserve and Klaserie Game Reserve in the north, and Marloth Game Park to the south of the Kruger National Park. Makalali Private Game Reserve lies slightly away from Kruger but its size enables it to offer the Big Five.

Cedarberg Travel has visited nearly every safari lodge in this area so we’re able to indicate which safari lodges offer true value for money…
