Cybele Forest Lodge & Spa, originally an old hunting lodge, is surrounded by plantations of timber and fine Arabica coffee close to both the Kruger National Park and the Blyde River Canyon area. Cybele Lodge itself is a charming old farmhouse with a wide veranda. The interior of the old homestead is soft and mellow, furnished with antiques, art works and exquisite fabrics - an ideal place to read a book or enjoy a drink before sampling the lodge's superb cuisine which is one of the lodge's hallmarks. The food is classically French with some traditional English touches using the freshest of ingredients. Outside rolling lawns lead down to the heated pool. Here you can relax and listen to the creaking of the blue gum trees in the forest breeze.
Accommodation at Cybele Forest Lodge takes various forms from attractive garden cottage rooms, modern luxury rooms, Paddock and Courtyard suites and the decadent Forest Suite. Each is individually decorated with lots of personal touches and Cybele Forest Lodge has worked hard to ensure maximum privacy for all their guests. All have minibars, fireplaces, satellite television, video library, tea/coffee facilities, compliemnetary sherry and air-conditioning. All the suites at Cybele Forest Lodge & Spa have their own surprisingly large swimming pools and gardens. The Forest Suite comprises 180sqm with an entrance hall, sitting room, bedroom, indulgent bathroom and garden with swimming pool. Additional facilities include DVD, French champagne in the minibar, central music control giving hifi surround sound in all rooms, flat screen television, selection of CDs, outdoor shower.
The Cybele Spa is a destination in its own right having receiving Clarins Gold Star status. The Spa comprises treatment rooms, steam room and spacious showers with multiple, high-pressure jets. There's also a large open-air hydrotherapy bath enclosed in a private-walled courtyard. Various treatments and holistic wellness packages are available for you.
Other activities at Cybele Forest Lodge include walking trails (guided or non-guided) in the 300 acre property, horse-riding from their own stables (for beginners or experienced riders), off road mountain biking (for the keen cyclist) and the heated swimming pool and the well equipped gym.
