Best time to go:	All year round - especially August to mid November and mid March to May. December to February can be very hot for hiking!

Minimum number:	2 people though prices reduce if you have 4 or 6+ people. This trail can accommodate up to 12 people.

Health requirements:	Good level of fitness is recommended but the trail is not difficult. (However the Krakadouw peak optional hike is strenuous and walkers need to be prepared.) Sunblock is essential.

Accommodation:	Comfortable guesthouses and community guest cottages.

Climate:	Mediterranean climate in the Cape (hot dry summers, cooler winters with possibility of rain).

The Wupperthal Trail is one of Cederberg Heritage Route trails, a collective name for four community-based walking trails in the Cedarberg mountains ranging between 3 and 5 days. The trails make this beautiful area accessible to walkers via the use of charming community guest cottages in the Moravian Mission villages of Heuningvlei, Brugkraal and Wupperthal on the eastern side of the Wilderness area and Clanwilliam guesthouses on the western side.

The Wupperthal trail can be a three night or a four night trail with an optional day offered to hike up Krakadouw peak, the highest mountain in the northern Cederberg. You walk from Pakhuis Pass all the way to Wupperthal, the picturesque mission village founded in the early 19th century. On the final day you return to Clanwilliam and enjoy the Sevilla Rock Art trail to 9 different rock art sites. All the trails are fully inclusive: you are ecorted by local community guides whilst your overnight luggage taken to the next nights' stay.
