The Klein Krakadouw Hiking tour is one of six trails which comprise the Cederberg Heritage Route . The Cederberg Heritage Route is the collective name for some community-based walking trails in the Cedarberg mountains ranging between 3 and 9 days. The trails make this beautiful area accessible to walkers via the use of charming community guest cottages in the Moravian Mission villages on the eastern side of the Cederberg Wilderness area and guesthouses in or near Clanwilliam on the western side. The trails are fully inclusive: you are escorted by local community guides whilst your overnight luggage is taken to the next night’s stay.

The 2 or 3 night Klein Krakadouw Hiking Tour is ideal for people wishing to enjoy a long weekend in the mountains. It's ideal for friends or families with older children - we recommend from 9 or 10 years upwards but younger children have also done it happily, depending on how used to walking they are...

The 3 night option gives a second night at Heuningvlei for people who want to hike up Karakadouw peak. This is quite a strenuous but immensely rewarding hike up one of the highest peaks in the Cederberg.
