Children over 12 years are usually treated as adults by South African hotels and need to have their own room. Similarly if you would like your children to have their own room, then the sample price will increase. If you have a little more time, we can add in a night at Simunye Cultural Village which lies deep in rural Zululand. It is accessible only by donkey cart or on horseback. This is often a winner with families.
This is one of our most popular family self-drive holidays as it has a bit of everything. It is especially suited to families with slightly older children eg between 6 and 12 years or more as many of the family hotels and lodges offer a range of sporting or adventure activities.
It is offered on a self drive basis as this gives your family flexibility so that you are free to do as much or as little sight-seeing and exploring as you feel like. However we can quote on a private driver/guide if you prefer (though this will add to the cost!)
You begin with some time in Cape Town and then to fly up to KwaZulu Natal for some active time in the Drakensberg Mountains. After that you can chill on the beach at the Indian Ocean before racheting up the adventure and safari activities in the Hluluwe area. You fly out from Richards Bay Airport.
