Denis Island Lodge offers a private tropical island getaway in the Seychelles which has few rivals.  The overall atmosphere at Denis Island is relaxed barefoot luxury for those who value seclusion and a 'less is more' philosophy. The cuisine is excellent at the lodge, the staff are welcoming and there is a good range of activities, both in the water and on land, most notably its diving and its fishing.

Location - The 375 acre privately owned coral island lies 95km north of Mahe.  It was named after Captain Denis de Trobriand who discovered it in 1773. It has two long stretches of white sandy beach fringed by lush tropical vegetation, coconut palms and casuarina trees and offers true relaxation and tranquility.  The flights from Mahe take approx 30 minutes and are four times a week (currently Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays).

Accommodation
Denis Island Lodge comprises 25 roomy cottages, well-spaced to ensure privacy, among the coconut trees on either side of the main buildings, all facing the sea. All air-conditioned cottages are decorated with a comfortable and elegant Creole ambience. Each has its own private sea-facing veranda, sundeck and private courtyard with outdoor shower as well as mosquito net, ceiling fan, tea/coffee making facilities, minibar and an open plan bathroom with shower and double vanity .

As well as the cottages, there is one Family Suite (170m⊃;) which has a bedroom, sitting room (which doubles as a second bedroom), dining area, outside veranda and full bathroom. There are also two villas which can take a family of four.

Facilities at Denis Island Lodge
The two main sports pastimes at Denis Island are diving and fishing. Fishing charters in comfortable and well equipped are available from the lodge on a daily basis. 

The Dive Centre offers a range of diver excursions for experienced or new divers. This is one of the best areas for diving in the Seychelles. Denis Island is on the edge of the Seychelles bank which drops some 2000 metres into the turquoise Indian Ocean teeming with fish.

Facilities on land include the swimming pool, an open bar/lounge, wine cellar, TV/library and games room with billiards and board games. Outside there’s a tennis court and volleyball.  There are plenty of nature trails and a designated jogging trail Spa treatments can now be taken in the privacy of your own cottage.

Dining at Denis Island Lodge - Denis island is particularly known for its good food. The restaurant serves an array of both local creole dishes and international cuisine in its sea front restaurant. Much of the fresh produce used has been grown on the island's own farm and vegetable gardens. There's an interative 'show' kitchen so that you can follow what happening whilst outside you can opt for some alfresco dining by candlelight on the deck. Sometimes beach barbeques are on offer.
