Elsa's Kopje is a luxurious oasis in the wilds of Meru National Park, original home of Elsa, the orphaned lioness made famous by George and Joy Adamson. Bush babies and hyrax live on Mughwango Hill and, close by, Elsa's descendents hunt the shy but plentiful plains game. This park is renowned for its elephant herds and fantastic flora and scenery. Enjoy bush walks, game drives, sundowner and night drives. As well as plains game, hippo, giraffe, lion, elephant and rhino are regularly sighted.
Eight makuti-thatch stone cottages blend into the hillside, each with a private veranda and unique view. Fabulous semi-open en suite bathrooms have either bath or shower. The cottages face across seemingly endless savanna, fringed with doum palms, criss-crossed by 13 rivers.
The two-bedroom Elsa’s Private House has two rooms en suite, a living and dining area, leading seamlessly outdoors into its own private swimming pool.
Elsa’s Honeymoon Suite is a 3 level room, with a double bed and ensuite bathroom. With it’s breathtaking views, this latest addition is most definitely Elsas 'pride' and lives up to the architectural 'wow' that characterises the rest of the design of Elsa's Kopje.
