FIFA Football World Cup 2010

The Soccer FIFA World Cup™ 2010 is taking place in South Africa from Friday 11th June to Sunday 11th July 2010. The FIFA World Cup is taking place at 10 stadiums throughout South Africa with the focus being on Johannesburg/Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town.  6 of these venues are within easy driving distance of Johannesburg and its environs.

WORLD CUP PACKAGES

We are working with preferred 2010 FIFA World Cup™ tour operators to offer packages which include international flights, match tickets, accommodation and transport to matches (by air or road). The soccer world cup packages are based on the match tickets with the following options:

• Team Specific S1 with 1 group match
• Team Specific S2 with 2 group matches
• Team Specific S3 with all 3 group matches
• Team Specific S5 – 3 group matches, Round of 16 & Quarter-final
• Team Specific S7 – 3 group matches, Round of 16, Quarter-final, Semi-Final & Final
• Match Specific - 1 Quarter final of your choice
• Match Specific - 2 Semi finals
• Match Specific - 2 Semi finals & Final

The FIFA World Cup™ packages work on the principle of ‘base camps’. You choose which of three South African cities you would like to use as your base for the world cup - Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban. On match days you are transported to your team’s matches by air and road. During the rest of the time, you are free to enjoy the scenic delights of the city that you're staying in.

We have given some sample packages below with prices. However we can book all 2010 FIFA World Cup™ packages, subject to availability, for the following nationalities:

England, USA, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Serbia, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland,

Contact us for a quote.

You choose the number and type of matches you want to see. You choose from a range of hotels (3+ to 5 star) in your base city. You choose your flight class - economy, business or first class.

Why buy from Us and not direct from a Preferred Tour Operator?
The advantage of buying through us is that we will give you a lot of background information on the destination as we have been selling South Africa for the last 15 years. We are also in a perfect position to arrange any additional services that you might want such as some day tours, car rental, a few days on safari, Victoria Falls etc.

CHOOSING YOUR BASE CITY

JOHANNESBURG
Despite the fact that Johannesburg is probably the least attractive of the three base cities, there are a number of plus points in its favour. The big attraction of Johannesburg as a base city is that you are within easy driving distance of 4 of the football stadiums used in the world cup (Johannesburg’s 2 stadiums, Pretoria and Rustenberg) and a longer drive to two other stadiums, Nelspruit and Polokwane. This means that travelling time to your matches will be the shortest of the three base cities (allowing you to stay later in bed). Also, if you want to try to watch an extra game or two, (other than ‘your’ team matches), you are most likely to do this if based in Johannesburg. Another plus point is that Johannesburg’s winter climate is very pleasant with dry sunny days (albeit cold at night). Finally there is a surprising amount to see and do in and around this bustling city.

DURBAN
Durban has some notable advantages. The weather is the best of the three base cities with warm sunny days and fairly warm evenings. Swimming in the Indian Ocean is certainly a possibility. There’s also plenty to see and do in and around Durban. The Drakensberg mountains and the private game reserve of Zululand are withing easy driving distance. However fewer games are being played here so you are likely to see your team matches and possibly one more. Travelling time is longer on average than Johannesburg but shorter than Cape Town.

Teams playing in Durban (Group matches) – Germany, Australia, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, Netherlands, Brazil, Japan, Nigeria, South Korea

CAPE TOWN
Cape Town has some big pluses and some negatives. As a city it is the most beautiful and probably the most tourist-friendly with lots to see and do. The Cape Winelands, the Whale Coast and the Cederberg mountains are all within easy driving distance. However it does have two disadvantages. Cape Town’s weather will be the most wintery with the possibility of rain and cooler temperatures. This shouldn’t be overstated as cold fronts generally only last a couple of days with often a week of good weather in between but you are not going to be tanning on the beaches! As with Durban, fewer games are being played here so you are likely to see only your team matches. Plus your travelling time to matches held at other stadiums is on average longer than Durban and Johannesburg. However this depends on which Fifa World Cup Package you take.

Teams playing in Cape Town (Group matches) – England, France, Italy, Portugal, Netherland, Uruguay, Paraguay, Algeria, North Korea, Cameroon
