Chief's Camp, in the Okavango Delta, lies on Chief’s Island within the exclusive Mombo concession of the Moremi Game Reserve - an area of unsurpassed predator sightings with a breeding pack of wild dog nearby, plenty of lion, cheetah and leopard - and now white rhino too. This is now the only place in Botswana where you can see rhino in their natural habitat.

The lodge is tucked under a shady grove of jackalberry trees, overlooking a seasonally flooded plain which offers excellent game-viewing without you even feeling the camp. This is a beautiful, remote lodge with dining/sitting area, library and curio shop. The beautiful raised pool deck is used for starlit dining and daytime game spotting. Chief’s Camp is quite unusual in Botswana for having a resident therapist. A range of spa treatments is offered in their poolside spa sala during the dry winter months. Twelve luxurious and secluded tented suites offer some of the finest accommodation in Botswana - spacious, light and airy, with polished wooden floors, overhead fans and luxurious bathrooms. Your private viewing deck gives you the opportunity to view the game on the luxuriant floodplains without the need to stir from the privacy and indulgent comfort of your tented suite.

Game activities are predominantly land-based at Chief’s Camp given the camp’s location with the Moremi Game Reserve, however the quality of the game-viewing more than compensates. Ancient mopane forests, lagoons, islands, seasonal floodplains and open grassland act as a glorious game sanctuary on the slightly higher ground of Moremi. The rangers of Chief’s Camp are experienced and passionate about the area. Mesmerizing mokoro excursions are offered during the seasonal flood period from mid-July to mid-September along the narrow channels of the Okavango delta.
