Kwando Kwara Camp lies in the remote northern part of the Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square kilometres and lies on the edge of the permanent water of the Okavango Delta and backed by grasslands. Kwara Camp encompasses a wide diversity of habitats, ranging from clear delta waters with reed-lined lagoons and channels, to open grasslands, Mopane woodlands and palm-fringed islands.

The eight luxury safari-style Kwando Kwara Camp tents are built on raised teak decks, overlooking a vast floodplain within a grove of huge African Ebony trees. Each tent has its own viewing deck, private en suite facilities including hot and cold running showers and flush toilets. The honeymoon suite has its own special bathroom with antique ball and claw bath.

Little Kwara is a luxurious satellite camp on the same concession with four spacious tents, elevated into the tree canopy on wooden decks each with its own private veranda. Each tent has its own ensuite bathroom with bath and inside/outside shower. Little Kwara is ideal for exclusive use by small groups and family parties.

Guests enjoy a diverse wildlife experience all year round at Kwara Camp, but with a focus on water activities. Glide silently through crystal-clear waterways in a mokoro, enjoy bird watching, fishing, or walking on one of the many palm-fringed islands, head out on a spectacular safari night drive - the choices are endless. The Kwara concession is also home to lechwe, sitatunga, reedbuck, bushbuck, hippo, crocodiles, elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, impala and tsessebe. Lion, hyaena, wild dog, leopard and cheetah are regularly seen in this part of the Okavango Delta.

Among the waterways there is an amazing number and variety of bird species, kingfishers, pygmy geese, fish eagles and the elusive Pel's fishing owl. Kwando Kwara is one of the closest Delta camps to the famous Godikwe lagoon where you will be surrounding by thousands of herons, storks and other nesting birds.

You may like to combine a few days at Kwando Kwara camp with a few nights at one of its sister camps in the Linyanti area at either Lagoon or Lebala camp.
