This adventurous mobile safari contrasts two of the most beautiful areas of Botswana, the eerie desert grasslands of the Kalahari and the Moremi Game Reserve within the Okavango Delta. You explore the contrasts of three major habitat types: the Makgadikgadi's verdant grasslands, the ‘petrified’ river valley of Deception Valley in the Kalahari Desert, and the lush islands of the Okavango Delta with its blue-green waterways.
This safari is ideal for the summer months so that you can enjoy the Kalahari Desert at its most productive time, when it receives low sporadic rains and the wildlife migrates into the desert valleys in large numbers. This precious water creates a short yet incredibly prolific wildlife-viewing period with concentrations of desert species and their young in the fertile, ancient river valleys of Deception Valley in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.
This expedition operates during the summer months of December to March. Service safari camps are pre-erected and offer comfortable dome tents. However the expedition ends in luxury with 3 nights at a luxury Okavango Delta lodge, Xigera Camp.
