Madikwe River Lodge is a stylish game lodge overlooking the Marico River in the magnificent malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. The thatched central lodge of Madikwe River Lodge consists of a magnificent bird-viewing deck and swimming pool, along with open-plan bar, lounge and dining area. Stroll across the bridge and savour bushveld dinners in the open air boma. The camp offers luxurious accommodation in 16 thatched chalets, intimately positioned on the riverbank. Each individually decorated chalet comprises an en suite bathroom, lounge, and wooden viewing deck overlooking the Marico River.
Madikwe River Lodge offers 'Big Five' game-viewing, fine birding and a host of smaller animals in particular packs of wild dog. The unique Kalahari sandveld can be explored in open landrovers - morning and evening game drives with experienced game rangers allow time in the middle of the day for relaxing around the lodge. It is also a malaria-free and child friendly lodge with babysitting on offer during the game drives. Family suites with sleeper couch for 1 or 2 children.
Madikwe River Lodge is situated three and a half hours' drive north-west of Johannesburg, or forty-five minutes by charter aircraft.
Children of 8 years and over are allowed on the adult game drives with special children's drives available for the under 8's - usually 1-2 hours in length, which take place after breakfast. Children under 8 years are also not allowed in the boma for meals (for safety reasons) and have their meals in the dining room at an earlier hour (during the main game drive).
