The Bay is a stylish and sophisticated five star hotel picturesquely situated between the majestic Twelve Apostles mountain range and the azure Atlantic Ocean. It overlooks the beautiful palm-fringed beach of Camps Bay (150 metres away). Indeed it is one of a handful of beachside hotels in Cape Town. All 72 bedrooms and 6 suites offer views of either the ocean, Lion's Head or the Twelve Apostles Mountains. Most have balconies and all have a soft contemporary style with entrance lobby, sitting area, television, telephone as well as marble bathrooms all in an understated neutral colour scheme. The main areas of the hotel have been revamped and are looking stunning with a new funky cocktail bar, cigar lounge and Wellness centre which has been enlarged due to popular demand. The dining room is stylish and refined serving fresh, simple and modern cuisine, which is complemented by the enchanting views over the ocean, whilst breakfast and lunch are served on the wooden pool deck. There are three secondary 'martini' pools. A welcome addition is the deli/wine shop serving light lunches and teas. You can also grab a snack here prior to heading to the beach.
27 Mountain rooms face the Twelve Apostles mountains. The Classic rooms have direct access onto the pool deck and their own balcony. There are also a small quantity of Club Classic rooms which are similar to Classic rooms but not pool facing. The Premier rooms are either sea facing (west) or pool facing (north) with side sea views. There are also some luxury rooms, suites and a penthouse available.
The Bay's winning location remains as popular as ever especially in high summer when Camps Bay is a bustling trendy area, but you can also consider it in the winter months when the beach is ideal for sunset walks and Camps Bay is more tranquil. The Bay cleverly changes some of its soft furnishings between winter and summer so that the Hotel looks good come summer or winter.

Maddy stayed in October: "The Bay is a prime beachside hotel. The Bay has undergone a total revamp of its main areas and pool deck and is looking very attractive. Gone is the slightly ‘70’s white décor and in its place is a more subdued pallet of colour, so that the hotel looks good come summer or winter. The pool area now has wooden decking and boasts a main pool and two secondary pools. The bar is looking very funky and inviting whilst the dining room is elegant and refined. A welcome new addition is the ‘deli’ serving light lunches and teas either in the deli or on the adjoining pool deck. The health and beauty area has also been enlarged due to popular demand. The Bay’s winning location remains as popular as ever especially in high summer when Camps Bay is a bustling trendy area, but you can also consider it in the winter months when the beach is ideal for sunset walks and Camps Bay is more tranquil.
