The Palace Hotel at the Lost City | South Africa

[South Africa Hotels and Accommodation]
The Palace Hotel at the Lost City is part of the Sun City resort, uniquely located in an ancient volcanic crater less than two hours drive from Johannesburg. The opulent Palace Hotel is considered one of the finest hotels in Africa. The sheer scale of the hotel is complemented by the extraordinary craftsmanship seen with handcrafted mosaics, frescoes, ornate ceilings and elegant bronze and stone sculptures. The 338 air-conditioned rooms have a contemporary African-Eastern style with hand-carved furnishings, luxurious bathrooms, TV, telephone and minibar. Children are welcome with a sleeper couch in the family room which takes two smaller children or one older child. Children pay for breakfast.

A short trip on a courtesy bus takes you to the various attractions. Your days can be spent enjoying a variety of pursuits: the 'jungle gardens' of the Lost City; the fabulous beach and water features; the crocodile farm; casinos and theatrical extravaganzas; health spas, tennis, squash, horse riding and just eating and drinking. The Pilanesberg National Park is also close by; a game reserve of natural bushveld, where plains animals roam. The resort boasts two challenging golf courses. The Gary Player is home to the Million Dollar Challenge.
