Chelinda Lodge has a stunning setting with sweeping views west over the grasslands of the high Nyika plateau. The eight luxurious log cabins with one or two bedrooms, bathroom with bath and shower, sitting room and fireplace are all linked by wooden walkways to the central lodge. Activities on offer are nature & game drives, (game includes roan antelope, reedbuck, hyena, zebra, jackal and eland), walks, biking, horse riding, fly fishing and superb bird watching. Chelinda offers full day outrides for those not taking a longer horse safari. There is a sister lodge, Chelinda Camp, which offers most modest accommodation.

Ginny visited Chelinda Lodge and Chelinda Camp: "There are two principle accommodations in Nyika. Chelinda Lodge accommodates 28 people in eight timber lodges. Some are two bedroomed family units; others are two-person duplexes where children could sleep on a sleeper couch in the upstairs galleried sitting room/study. However, as the stairs are very steep and small children could fall through the rustic balustrade, this arrangement is not suitable for young children. The lodge has superb panoramic views and there are open fires in all the bedrooms. Bathrooms have separate shower and bath.
The sister camp is Chelinda Camp is a collection of two-bedroomed self-contained chalets on the edge of a pine plantation and a trout-filled dam. These are very simple with twin beds, farmhouse furniture and furnishings and basic shared bathrooms but they are very warm and cosy thanks to the open fires which are lit for you each morning and evening by the chalet attendant. It is a good deal less expensive than the lodge and, although some people will want the superior lodge accommodation, others may feel that they get better value at the camp."
