Mari and Milandi stayed here in April 2005: "The East Coast Beaches are long, white and beautiful although all the properties are close to each other. The Residence is a stunning colonial hotel and really gives you that Mauritius feeling although it is not an exclusive private beach as they share the white long beach with other hotels nearby. It is not new and contemporary in style and might in some cases be out of fashion - the spa is below ground level - and the public areas are huge, rather than small and intimate. We had a private butler who offered to run my bath and fill it with flowers and candles. Very romantic (although I said no because Milandi my colleague, shared my room). Our dinner at the a la carte restaurant, The Plantation, was wonderful and we enjoyed the eastern dances that followed after our meal. I was also really impressed with their kids club ( for 3-12 years old)." |
