Mari and Milandi visited in April 2005: "The Oberoi is twenty minutes drive from the capital, Port Louis, fifty minutes from the airport. My opinion: I have to be honest and say that I was a little disappointed because of the feeling of an impersonal large hotel. The beach seemed artificial and because of its location on the west coast close to Port Louis, the view was often obstructed by big floating oil vessels in front of the hotel, or large cruise ships that enter the port daily. On the other hand it is also conveniently close for shopping and more choice of restaurants. However the food was excellent and the architecture is spectacular with a strong contemporary feeling. The rooms were fantastic and any and everything you might want will be no trouble at all - they even summond up a technical person who assisted me with the laptop connection on a Saturday afternoon!"
