Canon Lodge at the Fish River Canyon stands proud amongst great granite boulders, 20km from the awe-inspiring Fish River Canyon. As well as visits to the canyon, the nearby cluster of Quiver Trees and rock formations provide for hours of hiking and horse-riding is also on offer.
Canon lodge consists of 30 en suite chalets, each with natural rock walls and thatched roofs. An old farmhouse is the lodge restaurant with a terrific view of the canyon landscape.
Its sister lodge, the Canon Roadhouse, provides comfortable and friendly accommodation in 9 en suite rooms around a central courtyard, just a few kilometres away.
Canon Village has a mountainous setting with a bird’s eye view of the park. 42 Cape Dutch-style chalets with covered verandas evoke a village atmosphere. Murals throughout the main lodge and chalets depict the history and culture of the Nama who have lived here for centuries.
