Kate stayed there in October: "This hotel has been bought be a very friendly cosmopolitan german hoteliers. I liked the changes that they’ve made. They’ve kept the historic ambience of the manor house but brightened up the public areas with select use of more modern colours and furniture. I liked the fact that they had not changed the style of the Manor House bedrooms dramatically - they kept their character, but the chintzy look has been toned right down, and more contemporary fabrics are used whilst the bathrooms have had a complete makeover – very modern and fresh. The gardens were looking lovely and well established. My dinner was excellent – lots of fresh ingredients. Good new additions such as vacuum packed real coffee in the bedrooms are also good."
