Accommodation in Madagascar Home / Madagascar / Nosy Be

Anjajavy Hotel | Madagascar

[Madagascar Hotels and Accommodation]
Anjajavy Hotel lies at the end of a peninsula in a 450ha conservation area in the north west of Madagascar, only accessible by light aircraft from ‘Tana or Nosy Be. Unbelievably glamorous for Madagascar, Anjajavy has 25 individual rosewood villas, all with a superb beachside setting, air-conditioning and private decks. A loft room can be used for 1 or 2 kids. The bathroom on the ground level has a large bath and a shower. Anjajavy Hotel is Madagascar’s only Relais & Chateaux beach resort and is the perfect blend of simple but appealing accommodation with plenty of wildlife and beach activity, almost a taste of Madagascar in its own right. Depending on the season, there are sightings of humpbacked whales, pilot whales, dolphins, whale sharks, manta rays, leatherback turtles and green turtles while deep-sea fishing is on offer all year round. Night walks afford you the possibility of seeing the tiny mouse lemur, grey mouse lemur, fat-tailed dwarf lemur, Milne Edwards sportive lemur, greater hedgehog tenrec, Madagascar flying fox and Commerson’s leaf-nosed bat. The well-trained chef of Anjajavy tempts guests with a French inspired Malagasy menu using the freshest produce. Anjajavy has a good swimming beach and a wide variety of free activities include water skiing, catamaran sailing, wind surfing, snorkelling, canoeing in the sea or mangroves and the highly recommended village boat trips. Fishing and sunset cruises are an optional extra. There is a range of guided and self-guided walks and mountains bikes are freely available for exploration of the forest and surrounding bays.

To Ginny Russell @ Cedarberg Travel

Our first ever two weeks trip to Madagascar in September 2007 was a huge success, without question, due to your very professional attention throughout to our special needs.

From the very beginning you understood my wife’s considerable mobility problems due to Multiple Sclerosis, and over a period of several weeks you very thoughtfully and carefully put together a tour with which we were able to cope superbly. Your Madagascar ground agents had been fully briefed by you, and they ensured that my wife’s every needs, including assistance in getting in and out of our 4x4 transport, were met by both our driver and English speaking naturalist guide with such genuine graciousness.

As for our stay at Anjajavy, that was indeed a dream come true, right down to a sighting of a Fosa early one morning just in front of our luxurious lodge. You were quite right when you chose that location for us, knowing as you did that the staff there, from Hilton (the General Manager) and his charming wife Wendy, down to the most humble of their 120+ local village employees, would attend to everyone’s needs instantly and with genuine smiles all around.

As dedicated birders, and despite my wife’s physical problems, we have travelled extensively throughout the world in pursuit of our hobby and passion, but rarely have we experienced such professionalism care and attention to detail as you displayed in arranging this trip for us. We shall always be indebted to you for enabling us (against the odds due to the MS condition) to realise our dreams of seeing no less than 8 species of lemurs at close quarters and in excess of 75 species of birds – 56 of those species being endemic to Madagascar.

We wish you and your company every success in the future. Should any of your clients wish to speak to either of us about any concerns they may have about visiting Madagascar in the future, we would be genuinely delighted to speak to them.
