Accommodation in Botswana Home / Botswana / Okavango Delta

Vumbura Plains Lodge | Botswana

[Botswana Hotels and Accommodation]
Vumbura Plains is divided into two adjacent 14 bedded camps facing the sunrise and a beautiful floodplain in the far north of the Okavango delta. Each has its own raised dining, lounge and bar area beneath a canopy of shady indigenous trees. The impressively-appointed chalets are spacious; raised off the ground with a large deck complete with plunge pool, a large contemporary bedroom, lounge, en suite bathroom with outdoor shower and a sala for afternoon siestas. The North Camp also has two family units.

The extensive private concession harbours a wonderful variety of habitats and so the camps can offer both land and water activities in boats, mekoro, walks, drives and fishing. The variety of wildlife is stunning: Night drives and open 4x4 game drives bring sightings of buffalo and elephant along with the predators, lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah and the chance to see both wetland and savanna species. Guests can go out by boat in the morning and see hippos, crocodiles, red lechwe and all the aquatic wildlife and then travel out by 4x4 in the afternoon to see elephant, sable and all the dry savanna game. Guests who enjoy their birding will love the combination of all the Okavango water ’specials’ with acacia and dry woodland species.
