The Bushcamp Company own five individual bushcamps, many within walking distance of each other, allowing you to either stay at one or two camps or to walk from one camp to the next, with your luggage being portered separately.
All the camps offer both walking safaris and night drives by game vehicle.
Bilimungwe is a comfortable camp shaded by magnificent mahoganies. Reed and thatch chalets have en-suite shower, toilet and double basins. The rustic dining area and fully stocked bar are raised, ensuring peaceful sundowners overlooking the permanent water hole and abundant game.
Chamilandu has one of the valley’s prime river locations. 2-metre high, tree house chalets made of reed and thatch have wrought iron four poster beds with mosquito nets. Each has a bird's eye view over the Luangwa River to the Nchindeni Hills. A series of seven ox-box lagoons yields a diversity of species and attracts abundant wildlife.
Kuyenda camp is nestled amongst shady trees on the banks of the seasonal Manzi River.
Accommodation is in four authentic thatched grass and reed rondavels containing large spacious beds, mosquito netting and en suite facilities including shower, toilet and wash basin. The central dining area, lounge and bar overlook a grassy plain with abundant wildlife where the drama of wild Africa is your stage. Top Zambian Guide, Phil Berry has called Luangwa Valley home for more than 40 years and is based at this camp.
Chindeni camp is situated on the edge of a permanent lagoon with the Nchindeni Hills as a magnificent backdrop. Raised on wooden decking, Chindeni's four en-suite luxury tents have private raised decks from which you can view the resident big game or simply enjoy the serenity of the lagoon. Each tent has two queen-sized beds, hot and cold running water, shower, toilet, double vanities and polished floors. The permanent lagoon also offers the possibility of bird-watching and wildlife viewing from your raised deck. |
