On the banks of the Zambezi River near Victoria Falls lies Sussi & Chuma, an exclusive, upmarket lodge and an adjacent spacious two bedroom private villa. Sussi Lodge & Chuma House are named after David Livingstone’s faithful friends.
At Sussi Lodge accommodation consists of 10 luxury treehouses, built into the living canopy of giant ebony trees lining the bank. Each ‘house’ has a private view of the Zambezi from its own deck among the branches as well as en suite bathroom with shower and bath, mini-bar, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, tea/coffee making facilities and hair dryer. The main lodge building features a spectacular raised bar/lounge deck, open air dining area, curio shop, swimming pool, the Safari Spa and lawns sweeping down to the water’s edge. Resident wildlife, such as hippopotamus and elephant, is likely to wander through the Lodge grounds at any time, since in the National Park they have priority.
Chuma House was named after David Livingstone's faithful friend and is an exclusive two bedroom villa. Guests have their own private chef to cook all meals, a butler service and a private guide, vehicle and boat for all their activities. There are two en suite bedrooms - one double room with a bath and outdoor shower and one twin room with a bath and in-door shower. The spacious lounge and dining room area, outdoor veranda, deck area and private swimming pool all have lovely views of the Zambezi River.
A wide choice of activities adds to the attractions of this elegant, secluded retreat. The all inclusive rate includes two activities per day and you can choose from the following: a guided tour of Victoria Falls and rain forest on the Zambian side; game drive in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park where Zambia's only white rhino can be spotted; a cultural tour of Livingstone including a visit to the museum and the Maramba village; nature walks in the surrounding area; a shopping tour for crafts and curios in Livingstone town; early morning or sunset river cruise on the 12 seater boat; fishing in the Zambezi river on a catch and release basis. |

"We really loved this lodge! It is in a stunning location, on the river banks, and offers beautifully appointed rooms. Perfect for all romantics looking for a spot of indulgence. It is more personal than some of the larger resort hotels and also offers good value for money (given that it is a fully inclusive package including tours to the falls, boat cruises etc).
Sussi Lodge is also ideal for guests who prefer to be fully enclosed at night as currently both River Club and Tongabezi Lodge are open to the night sky."
