Draaihoek Lodge has a beautiful windswept location on the Atlantic Ocean. To the north lies Elands Bay and to the south lies Veldrif and Paternoster. In front lie miles of white sandy beaches and crashing waves. Behind lies its own private nature reserve which backs onto the prime bird-watching area of Verlorenvlei (meaning 'hidden valley') - an important wetlands area.
Guests can choose to take a morning game & nature drive in their open 4x4 vehicle to view their plains game and their ancient Bushmen rock art paintings. The spring flowers are also spectacular from August to early October.
The lodge consists of 10 chalets which are stylishly furnished each with their own bathroom, open fireplace, sitting area, tea/coffee facilities and a private terrace. The main lodge has a lounge with fire place, restaurant and a bar. If you wish you can have all your breakfasts, afternoon teas and dinners on the terrace enjoying the dune scenery. There's also a swimming pool and a short walk over the dunes brings you to their deserted beach, ideal for beach walks and even whale-watching in season.
Draaihoek is well poisitioned for exploring the West Coast with Paternoster, Langebaan and the West Coast National Park to the south, and Lamberts Bay, Bird Island and Elands Bay to the north.
