Kate and Pierre stayed at Sam's Giardino in November:
"What I particularly liked is that Sam gives you lots of advice as to what to do in Swakopmund and has experienced most of the tours himself so that you can trust his opinion. This personal, but not intrusive attention, became increasingly evident as our stay progressed. The sitting room is filled with interesting books on Namibia and the wine cellar has some wonderful (and quirky) books on wine and the wine-growing regions.

Wine-tasting is also offered at 6.30pm every evening and is highly recommended. Sam is very knowledgeable about his wines both from France and from the New World and particularly South Africa. The talk is highly informative and focuses on South Africa?s wines. Sam sells many wines by the glass as well as by the bottle so that you can enjoy having different wines with different courses, or having an extra glass if they bottle is finished.

Dinner is served after the wine-tasting. The ideal might be to eat in on the first night when you are tired and then go out the second night. The meal was simple but good and the menu changes daily."
