Rosenhof Country Lodge | South Africa

[South Africa Hotels and Accommodation]
Rosenhof Country Lodge is an elegant and peaceful Victorian country house hotel on the edge of Oudtshoorn surrounded by immaculate rose-filled garden. The main homestead (circa 1852) has been recently renovated and refurbished and is now luxuriously furnished in an understated style with antiques and fine artworks by well-known South African artists. The house is surrounded by immaculate rose-filled garden which gives Rosenhof (Rose House) its name. The new Wellness Centre offers a variety of relaxing treatments, a fully equipped gym, jacuzzi and sauna.

Flower-filled gardens lead to the twelve spacious bedrooms, each decorated in Cape-Victorian style and equipped with a telephone, TV, air-conditioning, tea/coffee facilities and a small terrace. Two executive suites have their own plunge pools, separate bedroom and lounge and a private patio with peaceful views of the Swartberg Mountains. The gardens are particularly fine with a swimming pool, gazebo and plenty of roses, herbs and fine trees providing a delicious cool retreat to return to after touring the Little Karoo. Dining at Rosenhof is an elegant affair with traditional country cooking with an emphasis on ostrich of course, served with flair and supported by an extensive wine cellar. Breakfast is served in the sunny breakfast room overlooking the gardens. TGCSA 5 star Country House.

We recommend Rosenhof for its pretty gardens and accommodation in an good setting in the heart of the Little Karoo, as well as its excellent restaurant. One of our consultants will gladly help you with any further questions.
Mr Manning stayed here in March 2008:
"a green oasis. Sheer luxury, especially in the executive suite. However, probably not warranted for a quick overnight stop (no reflection on the Rosenhof)."
