The 27 'bush luxury' tents are roomy, each with its own secluded deck and sweeping views over the river where huge herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra come daily to drink. Tents are furnished with giant four-poster beds and mahogany furniture offset by modern en suite bathrooms.
Although an arid area, the river means plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like elephant, lion, giraffe and zebra from the surrounding savannah plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted. There are twice-daily game drives with resident guides, seasonal rafting trips on the Uaso Nyiro River, bush breakfasts and dinners under the stars, visits to neighbouring Samburu communities and the opportunity to walk, outside the reserve.
