Kings Pool borders the Chobe National Park, with a pretty outlook over the hippo and crocodiles of the Kings Pool lagoon.
This is one of Wilderness Safaris' Premier camps and it is appointed accordingly. Peter stayed here in November: "This was my last stay on a 6 night Botswana safari and it didn't disappoint. For me the abundance of hippo was a real highlight - sitting in my sala listening to them honking noisily in the nearby lagoon is a special memory. We were also lucky enough to witness a fascinating encounter towards the end of our afternoon game drive between a small pack of wild dog and a water monitor lizard. The monitor was skirting a water hole and one of the pack came across to investigate - the monitor puffed it self up as much as possible and faced down the adventurous wild dog. Both went on their way and the encounter was over."
